Background
Established in 1898 in the heart of Speyside, Benriach is distinguished by its ability to produce three distinct styles of single malt: unpeated, peated, and triple-distilled with a taste profile ranging from orchard-fruit to sweet, mainland smoke. It is also one of the few remaining distilleries in Scotland to maintain and operate its own traditional floor maltings.
Founded by John Duff, Benriach closed in 1900 shortly after opening and remained dormant for 65 years, with only its maltings in operation to supply the neighboring Longmorn. Distillation resumed in 1965, and the distillery has since transitioned through various ownerships, most recently undergoing a complete brand relaunch and portfolio modernisation following its 2016 acquisition by Brown-Forman.
